Great Escape Mustang Sanctuary,
42132 Ridge Road,
with GEMS head trainer Stephanie Linsley
Stephanie helps bridge the gap between horses and humans through as a psychology-based approach to horsemanship. Our relationships with our horses mirror our relationships with other humans as well as ourselves. Therefore when we can establish our equine relationships through trust, confidence, and understanding, we gain insight into our other relationships as well.
We owe it to our horses to understand and respect their unique equine psychology if we intend to build a partnership with them.
therapuetic support by Caroline Roy LCSW
Caroline is a trauma informed therapist who is certified in EMDR, Equine Therapy, DBT and Yoga has a private practice at a ranch in Niwot, Colorado. An advocate for the orse, both wild and domestic, Caroline is the founding directory of Rocky Mountain Equi-Rythm: Horses Balancing Hearts, a non-profit devoted to the healing power of the horse which she passed on in 2018 after twenty years at it’s helm.
“Because Horses are such magical creatures, learning to dance with them is a powerful and transforming experience. It introduces nuance into our lives, ultimately enriching our spiritual core. Artistic collaboration with a horse invokes the musical experience created when melody, rhythm, harmony, timbre and form coalesce into a coherent whole. In learning the art of horsemanship, we embrace these same elements and also become whole.”
